I freeze them and grab one when a chocolate craving kicks in (ie every night). Excellent frozen or reheated for 30 seconds in the microwave and served with ice cream!

For raw food, use raw Cacao (if you must in powder form) sourced from an (organic) fair grower that cares for the jungle <3

Came out better than expected! Because I’m sensitive to any kind of refined sugar, I decided to make a slight alteration to the ganache. I used unsweetened cocoa powder in the ganache instead of bittersweet chocolate and sweetened it with maple syrup. Because I used maple syrup, I used a little less coconut milk. I didn’t whip it though. Just waited for it to cool, poured it over the brownies and let them sit in the fridge so everything could set. And it came out perfectly!!! Thank you for this recipe!

So I made these, and to my surprise, I REALLY liked them. Although, I was nervous the whole way through. My food processor was working way too hard to grind the dates and the engine started smelling smokey, so I stopped short of a smooth paste. It was more like large grinds/chunks of dates and walnuts. But I kept going and mixed in everything else. Then, my coconut milk chocolate ganache was also a little too runny, but I spread it on top anyway. After letting the batch sit for a while, the frosting hardened just enough to not leak when I cut the brownies, but it was still soft to the bite. Anyway, they were sooo good and soft and tasted wonderful! Then, I stored them in the fridge and was expecting hard brownies later on, but they were still soft! I really enjoyed eating these. Thank you for this unique brownie recipe 😋

Sorry to fact-check a little though, but it’s important to be clear that this, as written, is not a raw recipe. Except for the dates, and if you specifically bought raw cocoa powder (not specified in the recipe) none of the ingredients are raw.

To be more accurate, this is a no-bake brownie made with mostly cooked ingredients.

They do look delicious though!!
It’s definitely a recipe I’d want to try.

Hey Tina–it wasn’t our intention for these brownies to be specifically in a “raw diet.” We only call them raw because you don’t bake them at all. That being said, you should only soak your dates if they’re dry and you can totally use unroasted walnuts. So an easy fix to make them officially raw!

Anyone knows, as soon as you use Hot water to soak the dates and call for roasted walnuts the recipe is not raw.T
