Buttery shortbread crust with a nice 1:1 ratio with the lemon filling. The lemon bars had a great zing without being too sweet and they solidified really nicely even before fridging them. Simple ingredients and so easy to whip up. This is a keeper!!!

The crust is perfect and the recipe is easily repeatable (I also make lime bars and checker them to look like the Green & Gold of my Packers! I have also used oranges and blood oranges and they always turn out perfectly.

I think you have to really push down the crust into the bottom of the pan before you bake. It’s shortbread so it’s a very crumbly dough so when you push it into a neat square at the bottom of your baking dish it stays down when you pour the liquid
