The texture of the bread was fabulous, and I really enjoyed it with the pistachio filling and the icing. I did omit the orange blossom water (difficult to locate where I am), and it was still quite orangey, but not overpowering.

I did have to add about a 1/4 extra flour in addition to the extra 1/2 cup in the recipe. I am not able to knead by hand well so I used the dough hook on my mixer. I found that it took longer than 10 minutes to get a smooth dough. I also proves for about 1.5 hours both times to get to double in size.
I forgot to buy an orange to I added a bit of rose water instead- still delicious. I wasn’t able to find shelled plain raw pistachios but I gave some shelled roasted salted pistachios a good rinse under water and the filling turned out great.
If you just plan to drizzle the glaze like in the photos, you could probably half the glaze recipe. It makes enough to cover pretty generously. Adding some orange zest or rose water to the glaze would also be great.
Next time I would make more filling to have as a spread on toast. I could have eaten it by the spoonful!
Overall, I definitely plan to make again!

They were a big hit in the household. The dough was easy to work with and put together. I would recommend adding a little more water to the pistachio paste to get it easily spreadable.
