The Graham cracker crust also turned out hard with a very weird texture after I added the corn syrup.

Hi Adrienne! We just find that the whipped topping is super easy and already pretty stiff, but you should be able to make it with freshly whipped cream as long as you whip it until its very stiff. Hope this helps 🙂
